The group mentoring program believes that by presenting each student with the expectation of high academic standards they will rise to the challenge and continue to exceed our requirements. These student benchmarks include maintaining a 2.0* or higher grade point average, having two or less absences per quarter and attending 70% or more of the student/mentor meetings.

Students in the group mentoring program continue to improve their grades, decrease their absences and avoid juvenile delinquent behaviors. Overall, 82% of students are meeting or exceeding a 2.0 grade point average, 79% have 2 or less absences for the third quarter of 2010 and 70% of students have attended 70% or more of the student/mentor meetings for the second semester!

The baseline GPA requirement of >2.0 was exeeded for the 3rd quarter of 2010, with a total student average of 2.76.

Students maintained an average of 1.7 absences, just below the goal of no more than 2 absences per quarter. Seventy-nine percent of students were absent at a rate of 2 or less absences during the second quarter!

Students maintained an average meeting attendance of 70% for the second semester of 2010, which meets the required benchmark.
